Privacy policy

We collect as little as possible: no tracking, no ads, no analytics tools, no embedded third-party content. This policy follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

2. What data we process

• Account: email address, password (stored only as an irreversible hash), display name, @handle, language, when you signed up and confirmed your email.
• Profile: what you enter yourself – bio, place, canton, topics, kinks, offers, fantasy price, quote, photos and posts. Approved profile details (except your email address) are public and can appear on share images.
• Photos: we save every photo again from scratch. All metadata is lost in the process, including camera and location (GPS) data.
• Activity: pats on the back, (fake) subscriptions and reports you make, each with a timestamp.
• Sharing: when someone uses a share button, we count which profile or post was shared through which channel – not who shared it.
• Abuse protection: to block login attempts, limit uploads and reports and count shares, we store your IP address only as a keyed hash (HMAC) that can’t be reversed, and delete it after about a day.
• Server logs: our host logs technical access data (IP address, time, page requested, browser) to run the service securely and deletes it according to its own retention periods.

3. Cookies

We only use one technically necessary session cookie (jf_session) to keep you logged in and protect forms against abuse. It is only set when you log in or open a form, and only lasts for the session. There are no other cookies.

4. Purpose

We process data to run the satirical platform: manage accounts, check content before it is published, create share images, send emails to confirm your address and reset your password, and prevent abuse. We don’t sell data or use it for advertising.

5. Who else receives data

• Hosting and email: the website, database and outgoing email are hosted by Infomaniak Network SA in Switzerland, which processes the data on our behalf.
• Social networks: the share buttons are plain links. No data goes to a network until you click one and share something there – then its privacy rules apply, and data may be transferred abroad.
• Otherwise we only pass data on when the law requires it.

6. How long we keep data

• Account and content: until you delete them or delete your account.
• Unconfirmed accounts: deleted after 7 days.
• Confirmation and reset links: expire after a short time and are then deleted.
• Deleted data may remain in the host’s backups for a short time.

7. Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and receive it in a common format. You can edit and delete your profile, photos, quote and posts yourself; you delete your whole account under Settings. For anything else, email karpi@aperofilm.ch. You can also complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

8. Security

The connection is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as hashes, uploaded files are kept outside the public web folder, and content that hasn’t been approved is visible only to you and the moderators.

9. Changes

If the platform changes, we update this policy. The version on this page applies.
